When I read what you wrote, I was in shock. I did nothing. I then talked to Mia. Like she said, her I am in prison, not daycamp, and I can't even defend myself! I can tell you that we write each other, talk on the phone, and I go to see her. So you want to know something??? Yes, she's had many nightmares, panic attacks, its effected her emotionally as well as physically, and she has reflected to me her feelings. She is doing her time, and she sorry for the choices she made. I don't think there is any reason to talk anymore smack about Mia.... Now that you know that this has all effected her this way, should be enough for you to feel that warm and fuzzy feeling you are all needing!

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

I would like to address Karen's statement. First, who are you? Last I checked, someone by the name of Karen was not a family friend or family member to make factual comments on our behalf. Please stop the negativity. It is unhealthy for everyone.

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

I happen to know for a fact that this young lady, Mia Gribble does not yet get it. She told her friends she is the only one in Purdy Womens Prison for a "TRAFFIC VIOLATION". Give me a break, a "traffic violation". She killed an innocent woman. She and her family feel she got shafted, by the courts and their lawyer. She has yet to feel any remorse.

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

I have read on a blog that in the court room that the family of Mia Gribble Glared at the friends and family if Gabrillia but that is soooo wrong. We were sitting behind their friends and family and they kept turning and giving us dirty looks because we were there. We were there to support Mia, she pled guilty! She will live with this the rest of here life , but that does not mean we were to leave her side when she needs us the most. We are all sorry what happened but we will always be there for her!

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

I am appalled and ashamed of this woman S Dewitt for being such an unforgiving human. Instead of trying to help a child who made a terrable mistake she is judging her, she says she showes not remores? How does she know? What a terrible comment to make. I am very sorry for the loss of her motorcycle friend. What would this world be like if we had the attitude of S. Dewitt? My husband and I ride, we both know not to ride in bad weather conditions - It's just not safe as much as we would both like to take a ride on a foggy morning. Rmember "Always two sides to a story" Don't you think Mia is paying enough? Why is it the system, is so quick to put people behind bars instead of getting them the help they need. Put yourself in her situation, put your self in her parents situation. What would you want done if it were your child? Ms.Muhler's is in a much better place now and I bless her. I feel so very badly for her family I wish them strength! I hope they can dig deep down inside and pry for Mia. The best way to move on is to forgive - We are all here for a reason

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

There is no dount that this accident is a tragedy for all involved. There is also no doubt that Ms. Gribble will pay for the rest of her life for the many mistakes she made that night. She has the misfortune of being the rallying point for many motorcyclists in the Seattle/Pac Northwest area who want drivers to start seeing them, and the justice system to start punishing those who do not.

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

John, I am not saying weather was the excuse, Im saying in these weather condition's both drivers are to take extra care. Not only the auto driver but the motorcycle rider too. I have rode for 30+ years. And I know about laying down a bike. I live in the area and know the family and Ms Gribble And what I have been told from fact's from the case. Yes ,Ms.Muelher's was going over the speed limit.
Drug test's showed so small of a trace it could not accurately quantify. But the trace of alcohol and drug does not cement fault. It was a terrible accident, that took a life, not Ms. Gribble.
One thing that I saw after the accident was a blog of Ms muelher (which someone took down quickly) stated that her favorate activites were riding fast and her middle name was "kamikaze". This was a horrible accident which both familes will morn for a long time. Thanks

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

John,

With the exception of obvious spam, I have posted every comment I have recieved on this issue; including yours. In fact, there are several that are very favorable to Ms. Gribble.

The weather is no excuse. The visibility argument goes both ways; Ms. Gribble should have seen the bike coming and not violated Ms. Muelher's right of way. Anyone who has any experience with motorcycling knows that laying the bike down is ALWAYS a bad choice. Finally, the witness accounts that I have seen very clearly put Ms. Muelher's speed in the 40 mph range.

We will never know what went through Ms. Muelher's mind in the seconds before impact. But we do know that Mia Gribble chose to drink that night, chose to take Ecstasy, chose to get in that truck and drive. Those choices resulted in a death.

She is charged with hit-and-run (fatality), which is very different from a run-of-the-mill hit-and-run where there is only property damage. So she will be answering for the taking of a life. It remains to be seen what the justice system thinks that life is worth.

Re: Mia Gribble to Appear in Court

I can not belive the attention you are giving this accident. What is your real agenda? Yes this was a terrible accident, but you fail to mention "all" the fact's.
Fact the weather was a drizzlydark morning, witnesses stated that Ms. Muelher was going 45-50 mph in a 40mph area. The truck was west bound crossing Edmonds way. This gives all se bound traffic a full view of crossing traffic of atleast a block, and Ms. Gribble crossed 3 1/2 of the 4 lane road when Ms. mulher struck the back end of the truck. Why did she not attempt to stop or lay the bike down?
We will never know. We do know Ms.Gribble in shock or whatever did leave the sceen.
And that is what she will answer for not taking a life like you and other posters have said. That is, the posters that you will post.
John, move on and print something worthy, instead of trying to hurt a teenager who will live with for a long time.
it will be interesting to see if you post this. Thanks
